Welcome to "With Love, Bugs."
I've always had a passion for art and creativity. I expressed that through dance for 10+ years and then, as a dance major in college I found something new, Graphic Design...and here I am some years later starting my own company and bringing my ideas and "pretty-ing" (yeah I make up my own words too, just go with it) the world.
So, why "With Love, Bugs"? ...... As a baby, my dad nicknamed me "Bugs" because he use to say that "I was cuter than a bug". Well, the nickname stuck and he still calls me it {insert undetermined number here} years later...and he will forever and ever. When I was a child I wanted to sign his card "With Love, Bugs" but, wanted to be "cute", I wanted to draw a bug...so, I thought and thought about what kind of "bug" I could draw in the inside of Father's Day, birthday, Valentine's Day....cards. I mean, there aren't really any "cute" bugs out there. But, somehow, one day, I settled on a bee... I know I know, it's not really a "bug", but what's a girl to do...I wasn't going to draw an ant or a fly. So, from that day on, when I signed his card, or anything else to him from me, I would draw 2 bumble bees, best I knew how. I usually drew 2: one big for the daddy-bee and one littler for the mebbee... It became my trademark signature for him.
I love bumblebees because they remind me of him and the special bond that I will always have with him. I fawned over the Coach bumblebee key chain a few years ago and was soooo excited to get it from him and mom (well, lets be honest, I'm pretty sure mom bought it) that I didn't even want to put it on my keyring, but I did and I look at it everyday and remember our special times together.
So, after {insert undetermined number here} years of being "Daddy's little bugs" and in honor of all the love, dedication, strength and support that he and my mom (can't forget her!!) have given me, I can now start my company and send everything out to all of you...
"With Love, Bugs"
PS - in case you feel weird calling me Bugs...to everyone other than my dad, I go by Melissa
